And I've been catching up on some games that I've wanted to play, but haven't been able to.

Just recently, I've beaten Gears of War, and Call of Duty 4, (I wish CoD4 had co-op.  It was fun in GoW) and played Forza 2, NHL 08, and am going to be playing Assassin's Creed, and Mass Effect soon.

Just wanted to share some impressions.

Call of Duty 4:  Wow, I love this game.  It raised the bar for every shooter I play from now on.  I no longer need a gun to go into a zoom mode where I can't see the gun anymore.  I love the AC 130 level.  It's so similar to the real thing.  The ghilly level in Chernobyl is SO cool.  Love, love love love love playing through this game.

Gears:  Fun, and I've played to the end of Act 1 before with a friend, and played multiple multiplayer matches before, so I was pretty versed in it.  Ended up teaching my step-brother quite a few things he hadn't paid attention to, like Active Reload, and Roady Run.

Forza: Hate it.   Just because I'm impatient.  If I were a real car buff, I'd have a blast slowing down on corners, and driving carefully.

NHL 08:  Great, especially if you play or watch hockey.  Or enjoy the intricacies of a good team sport.

All in all:  Love my 360, and I'm going to be playing it quite a lot in the future.  Haven't touched my Wii since I beat SMG. <.<  Kind of not seeing much of a point to have it, besides some game releases, like Brawl, and No More Heroes.  I'm sure I'll play a lot more on it in the future, but right now, my 360 has captured me.

ive been thinking of picking one up... not only cause ive been replaying my cube games and some ps2 as well... but also cause my brother has a ps3, and i own a wii... so a 360 would complete the set.
good to know the 360 is a satisfactory machine... im still reluctant with the whole breaking down of it for now reason thing... that and my financial situation is no good right now. but its ok. i do plan on getting one.
nice mini reviews. lol

If I got any of the HD systems it'd be a 360.... but the only games I'd want are DoA4(which probably can't be bought 'new' unless it's off eBay, and it wasn't ALL that great), and if I really thought it'd be worth it, maybe something like Forza 2 since I loved the Dreamcast 'Sega GT' game.  And then mayyyyyyyybe the 360 Sonic, but only because I collect Sonic games when I actually have the system they're on.

But to me, none of that is worth the money the thing costs.  I'll have a hard time getting the games I want for Wii this year and into the next, let alone have enough to pay for a new system, 60-dollar games for that, a HUNDRED DOLLAR WIFI RECEIVER, Xbox LIVE accounts, and the *time* I'd need to play that, the Wii, Gamecube games, my DS(s), any computer games, and especially my ART.  I wouldn't have time for all of that.  I wouldn't mind having a quote-unquote 'hardcore system', but with no games I'm truly desperate for or even interested in and with no time to balance out the rest, it just isn't practical for me really.  I'm having fun with what I have, so I really do think it'll be enough for me for now.

Not to diss the 360, like I said, if I were to get either of the systems, it'd be a 360 I'm sure.  I'd just be constantly worried about the three lights of death of course.

haha!  i know what you mean Magnus... there are some Wii games that I still want to play and i havent because I dont have the money. So before getting a 360 i would pick those up... these games being: Trauma Center New Blood ( i played the DS one 2 years ago and it was very entertaining), Battalion Wars II, Zack and Wicky ( i love those kind of games), Manhunt 2... just to name a few...
and those are games that are already out.
with new games like Brawl, Mario Kart and all the other inevitables *looks at all other Mario sport themed games* I dont know if i would be able to afford all of them... plus college classes, cause i AM paying for my own schooling.
so yeah. 360 is a 'hope' for me right now!

man, congratz.

I'm limited to playing it at friend's houses, but...it's still awesome every time I do get to play. No sure I'll be getting one though. I find I no longer have much time for video games. I can afford the couple of rounds on counterstrike, and what not but...don't have time to sit down and get through a good map in an rpg...

Assassin's Creed is pretty tight.  I don't have a 360 or any new generation system, but just play the games at my friends' houses.

I've found myself to a pretty relaxed gamer, so I really don't need many games to fully satisfy me.

That said, I'd love to have a 360 and play quite a few of these games mentioned.  Just don't have the budget to do so, both my fault and otherwise.  Heh, I'll admit it, I want the Naruto game.  Something refreshing about seeing an anime/manga game that actually recreates the world faithfully and doesn't just push some cliche adventure/fighter/puzzle/card element.  That and a few other more mainstream 360 titles.

Buuuut I'm poor.  And I'm pretty comfortable as a Nintendo gamer, even if that means I only play a few games.

I have to agree on COD4.  Play it and play Halo 3... personally, I like COD4 a lot better.  Combat is much more realistic, and the multiplayer is leaps and bounds ahead of Halo 3.  I also really enjoy Forza 2... the realism in the driving is great, I have to admit I like it a lot better than the PGR series.
