Have any of you guys played through this? I just got it and... it's interesting. Not what I'm used to playing, that's for sure. I'm still enjoying the challenge of it. I'm not sure how long I can keep going before my frustration becomes unenjoyable

I just got Ilyana and then headed to some beach map. I was about to beat it but Rhys died..    so I turned it off and went to bed!!!

I have. I love the Fire Emblem series.

The frustration is annoying at first, but soon you'll get used to it- and later on you'll definitely learn more strategy and then be able to go through without even dying sometimes.

Were you an intellectual member of NSider's Pokémon board? Then go to the Battle Frontier!

Or were you perhaps a Fire Emblem board regular? Then in that case, go to the Emblem Memories[/url

Awesome. You're at the level where MYST, Rolf, and Marcia Join you. I want to say level up Rolf since Shinon won't be coming back for a while. Same with myst if you need another healer.

Yeah, I'm sure you can tell that I have this and love it. I'm actually replaying it for some decent class characters that I may need for FE: Dawn or whichever.

I recently finished playing it for the 9th time.

I remember that I had all kinds of trouble with PoR the first time, and I still make mistakes every now and again, though my last time through I only had to restart once. Poor Mordecai got fried in Chapter 17 Part 4.

I know how you feel: " " In Radiant Dawn, I just lost the same battle four times in a row. That's why I'm on the internet right now.

I find that I sleep better (and think less about my next strategy during the night) if I beat something before I go to sleep. Like last night, I beat some novice level character on Mario Power Tennis. It feels good to go to sleep on a win!

I can't tell if Irish is joking or not, but Mist is Mist, not Myst. On a sidenote, I have never played MYST but I know it exists.

I finally finished it.

Knowing that it was the last chapter I let like 4 people die though... Sacrifices, you see.

Now I'm not sure what to do with myself. What I WANT to do is replay it. Use different characters and such. Now that I know wthookie I'm doing it will be a different experience (I assume).

I don't want to do the trial maps right now. I think I'll do them after I replay it again. I kinda want to draw someone but kinda never works for my art. If I KINDA want to that means I might finish the lineart for someone then I save and quit and don't touch it again.

I'm not sure who I want to pair up with Ike. Alex says I should pair Soren up with him.. Who else can buddy up with Ike?

Oscar.  He and Soren are Ike's best support choices, I think.  IIRC Oscar has the earth affinity, which helps you dodge a ton, so he's the best.

Yes... I used Oscar this go around. It was awesome! Made it very easy.

Who else do you know that has the earth affinity?

Actually, I wasn't aware that I made that typo. It's funny that I actually own the PC game but never downloaded it.

Back to on topic discussion, I'm actually trying out Nephenee only to find she's just too weak in the begginning for my tastes. I mean where you have to get on the ship with Nasir, She annhilated the bottom left side along with Mia as backup suppourt. She just isn't a good "wall" to level up as easily as I want so =/. Thoughts on using Nephenee?

Always restart when a character dies. I never want that too happen. Just be cautious on future chapters because things tend to get heavy and mind boggling and don't get over confident!

@Hen:
You went through the whole game and sacrified 4 people in the final battle?
I know how you feel about replaying the game over again. I played it 3 times in a row over the summer, using different units and such. I was actually going for supports and bonuses for RD, but that only works with Normal or Hard modes, not Easy. Anyway, if you want some interesting supports next time, use Ilyana and Kieran. Ilyana can support with Zihark, and Kieran can support with Oscar, which pairs them up with Earth affinity people.

Nephenee is actually one of the better units in the game, but she does start out with E lance and is a little weak. She quickly grows into a powerful unit and is usually better than Devdan by the time she promotes.

People with Earth Affinity:
Ike, Oscar, Zihark, Tanith, and Lucia. Earth adds a lot of avoid as the bonus, which makes it the best affinity, in a lot of people's opinion.

@Mercurian:
There is a RD thread in the Wii section.

BTW, even if you have a guide, chances are you are going to restart a lot. RD is quite a bit harder than PoR.

i know... i just happened to read this and felt like sharing ^^;

good to know about DR, i like the challenges...

you know, and this comment here is more relevant to PoR; when I started that game (PoR) I went straight to hard mode... skipped Normal altogether. I think Im gonna enjoy DR!

I have it and am about half way through it. I just got bored with it. Turn Based Strategy games just don't keep me entertained for very long.

I'm playing through again on hard mode. I think I'm on the 3rd mission. The one where you defend the base. I was doing REALLY well, but then Ike kept getting attacked- and he'd kill the opponent so then another would come up and do 4-7 damage.. repeat.. until he died Maybe I need to equip a more piddly sword on him.
