I'm sorry if this thread is out dated, but being the huge Tales fan I am I just HAVE to reply to this. XD
Okay, the PS2 is extremely Tales happy. You'll have fun if you don't mind importing. Here are all of them...
Tales of Phantasia is a Playstation remake of the first Tales game on the Super Famicom. While this game is Japan-only, luckily the guys at Absolute Zero Translations have made a fully playable fan translation (you know, like Mother 3)! You'll need a modded/Swap Magic'd PS2 to play it.
Tales of Destiny is the second Tales game, made for the Playstation. While it's in full English, it's extremely expensive and rare and... I heard it isn't that good.
Tales of Eternia (Tales of Destiny II in US) is another Playstation Tales game. On the bright side, this is considered one of the best Tales games AND it's been officially translated. On the bad side, it's really freaking expensive. There's a cheaper European version of Tales of Eternia, but I can't seem to find it on eBay.
Tales of Destiny 2, the REAL Tales of Destiny 2, is a Playstation 2 game. It's cheap, but Japan-only. While there is no full translation,
Phantasian Productions has a pre-alpha menu patch. They're extremely slow, though.
Tales of Symphonia has a PS2 port with some added things (lively skits, more side quests, more costumes, hi-ougis/Mystic Artes, etc.), it's still Japan-only. There might be a menu patch somewhere on the official Tales forums, but I can't find it.
Tales of Rebirth is another Japanese-only PS2 Tales. While there is no patch, there are both
subbed videos and
a written script.
Tales of Legendia is an easy one. While it wasn't made by the same teams as the other Tales games and one of the least like Tales games, it's story and characters are considered good. Since it's in English and rather cheap, you should have no problem with it.
Tales of Destiny remake for the PS2 is a good game. P: There's two versions. The original remake, which is kind of cheaper, or the Director's Cut, which is more expensive but has more content. I recommend getting the Director's Cut not only for the content, but because both
Absolute Zero and
Phantasian Productions are working on a ToD: DC translation together. It's not an active project, but it's just totally an awesome game anyway.
I see you already have Tales of the Abyss, so I won't say anything about it. XD
That's the end of the PS1/PS2 Tales, buuuuuuuuut there still are some more. >:
Tales of Innocence (I can't find it, but you might be able to if you really searched) is for the DS. While it has no English release,
Absolute Zero is coming along nicely with their English patch. You'll need a flash cart to play the translation. If you don't want to wait, there is
written script of the game.
Also there's Tales of Vesperia on the XBox 360 (full English), Tales of Hearts on the DS (probably no official release), and Tales of the Tempest on DS (no official release, it sucked anyway).
And a little info on playing imports/translations. Since a normal PS2 bought in America can only play American games, you'll need to do something to it. I have a Slim PS2. I recommend looking
here for some Swap Magic 3/Flip top bundles. I got mine for around $20. You'll need to screw the top off your PS2, and while that sounds dangerous, it's perfectly fine if you're careful enough. I watched
this video for help. I did it and trust me, I am NOT someone you should trust with taking electronics apart.

I've never done anything like this before and it took me about an hour. If you want to play PS1 imports/translations, you'll need a
Breaker Pro. I haven't gotten one yet, but I'd like to soon.
And... I think that's it! XD
