So, for an INCREDIBLY insane deal - Alex and I got a 46" sony bravio hdtv - and.. they threw in a ps3 + game + blu ray movie FREE.

OMG!

I have assumed that the ps3 was so far down the 'will be able to buy' list that I haven't looked at ALL at what the games available for it are.

Do any of you have one? Suggest some good games?

*bounces*

I know FOR SURE I'm going to be getting Disgaea 3

That's a freaking sweet deal.  That would be the only way I'd get a PS3 LOL.  Anyways FFXIII comes out in March, so if you enjoy RPGs it's worth checking out.  Other then that I've looked at the game list and nothing really interests me for the PS3 that isn't coming out on the 360.  It doesn't have the greatest selection of games for my taste, but I'm sure you'll find something.  I mean a popular game is littlebigplanet so you could try that I guess.

We actually have a PS3, but I haven't played on it at all!

We have 3 games right now: Batman: Arkham Asylum, Eternal Sonata, and Valkyria Chronicles. My brother has beaten Batman and VC and recommends them both.

Another game that I want to play is inFAMOUS.

I didn't even know Eternal Sonata was on the PS3 LOL.  That's still one I have to get for the 360.

Heeeennn! Glad to hear I'm not the only one on the new PS3 owner bandwagon. I plan on getting one next month with my tax return.

Some games I recommend:

Little Big Planet: A really fun platformer where you get to edit and design your own levels, stickers, etc. I think you and the "chicks" will get a big kick out of it.

Rachet & Clank: Either Tools of Destruction or A Crack In Time are fantastic platformers. Imagine if Crash Bandicoot actually kept with the times and evolved and didn't get lame.

Uncharted: Another awesome action/adventure game

I agree with Shroomy on his game choices. The Uncharted games are some of the best games you'll play on any console, and incredibly detailed.

Also, some neat downloadable games from the PSN are: Fat Princess, Mushroom Wars, and Super Stardust HD.

Yes, Super Starudust HD is fantastic if you enjoy old school space shooters. Fat Princess is a funtastic class based "capture the flag" style game where you try to capture a princess from the other team. Oh, to make it more difficult? The other team keeps feeding the princess cake and making her fat. That's definantly going to be my first PSN purchase, but that's due to me loving classed based games like Battlefield.

Do you guys use playstation home at all? I'm annoyed that you have to pay for every effing outfit...

I'm going to "try" it out, but based on everything I'm hearing, I doubt I'll use it for more then an hour. If I want to buy stuff I'd rather buy games or DLC instead of a t-shirt. I hardly ever buy anything for my 360 avatar what makes'em think I'm going to start now?

I actually played on the PS3 after Christmas! I played through Batman: Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2, and inFAMOUS twice. I like inFAMOUS the most though I still kick around a challenge mode map in Batman every once in a while.

The story in inFAMOUS is just told so well. It has strong characters, excellent voice acting, and strong gameplay. You have to run away a lot, but the game always restarts your mission and lets you keep the experience you gained before you died. You also can choose to become a Hero (help others), or Infamous (look out for number 1). I played through both sides and I like the Hero side more.

I hope there is a sequel one day.

As for White Knight Chronicles, I really don't have a lot of interest. I'm going to get Final Fantasy XIII though.

I haven't looked into their games lately.. wonder if anything cool is coming up.

On the other hand it's prolly best I don't know! Probably won't be able to purchase any games till near cmas.

inFAMOUS is a sandbox game. It's kind of like Spider-Man 2 (the game, not the movie ) except you have electric powers instead of webbing. Oh, it's rated T and has profanity and coarse language. I wish it didn't but it does.

My wish is coming true though: inFAMOUS 2 is coming out next year!

I played FFXIII for a while back in March and early April but I didn't get very far. It's the only main FF game that I ever stopped playing, and I've played all of them, except XI. I plan to get back to it eventually.

Besides that, I haven't played the PS3 in quite a while.
