Ignore the first two sentences, they are not that important. I was using them just as a set up. Also please comment on the screenshots I took with my DSi, I want to know if they made the theory layout better or not.Thousands of years prior to the arrival of Samus Aran to the Alimbic Cluster, Alimbics fought the horror known as Gorea in the same region of the Tetra Galaxy. Now to the present, Samus Aran has collected all the Octoliths and has activated the Alimbic Cannon. She has gone to the Oubliette and has just defeated Gorea's first form after first activating six switches scattered on the walls of the surrounding area.
The Alimbic Cannon is lining up to open the doorway to the Oubliette: the Infinity Void.
These six switches then reveal several technologies during a brief cutscene. First, the mechanisms fire off various colored beams at the defeated Gorea form that seem to drain the energy of the Gorea Seal Sphere. These switches then release a devistating attack on the laying Gorea which cause the creature to be engulfed in flames and to fly off above and disappear. The switches then fire off beams that teleport Samus to the top level of another chamber in the Oubliette where she faces Gorea 2. Gorea 2 is "Gorea's final form"; however, "Gorea remains attached to the [Seal] sphere in order to draw all remaining energy from it" (Gorea 2 scan). Gorea 2 is attacking Samus Aran in the secret Oubliette chamber, while Gorea is draining energy from the Seal Sphere. What energy could be left now "that Alimbic essence is no longer present in the Seal Sphere"? Gorea's psychic energy remains.
Absorbers
Cannons
Portal Beams
Gorea's psychic energy is a "fathomless power" and "as long as its [these] psychic powers are ensnared, Gorea cannot escape" (Seal Sphere 01). With Gorea attached to the Seal Sphere during the Gorea 2's encounter with Samus Aran, Gorea has an access to its power. Additionally, all Alimbic essence has left the Seal Sphere prior to the Gorea 2 encounter and the essence was meant to act as "the engine that powers the sphere" (Seal Sphere 03). With the Seal Sphere no longer being powered by the Alimbic essence, the Seal Sphere has no way of containing Gorea and its engine (Gorea's psychic powers) is open to be drained by Gorea especially considering the fact that Gorea has absorbed the Shock Coil and can use it over a much larger range than Sylux.
Personally, I see Gorea 2's explosion at the end of Samus's mission as the end of Gorea draining the engine of the Seal Sphere. Gorea 2 was just a tool used by Gorea while it absorbed the energy from the Seal Sphere. Take a look at the death of Gorea 2, it simply flew up then all of a sudden shrieks and cracks all over leading to a violent explosion. Keep in mind, Gorea 2 already had an explosion prior to that explosion in the ending cutscene. To me, it looks as if Gorea gave a telepathic order to Gorea 2 to initate its own explosion as the cracking is seen first at the head then runs throughout its body. Looking at Gorea 2's eye, it also glows prior to the cracking perhaps as a sign that it has received a telepathic message from Gorea similar to how Samus's visor changed upon receiving telepathic messages from the Alimbic Elders within the Octoliths (the combat visor changes to a darker outlook sort of like the Scan Visor's design in the game).
Continuing on the subject of the final cutscene, I think there is another possibility besides the exiting colored orbs (from the Oubliette) being the hunters' ships. This possibility being the six sub-weapon Gorea forms seen during the Gorea Phase 1 encounter. Now Gorea has been seen separating a form of itself prior to the first encounter...
Gorea separating a form of itself prior to the Phase 1 encounter (Sorry about that light spot in the 2nd shot).

...so I don't see why the sub-weapon forms cannot also separate especially considering that the final scene takes place after I believe Gorea has reacquired its fathomless power from the Seal Sphere. Furthermore, those colored orbs do not even look like the streaks that entered the Oubliette's docking area and the orbs themselves (besides varying colors) resemble one of Gorea's forms shown in the intro to the game with the "Special Thanks to Retro Studios" message.
Gorea's Orb form in the intro.
With this being mentioned, I think that a possible seven (or eight) Gorea forms could exist at the end of Metroid Prime Hunters.
