Yep, it comes out tuesday. I realize that most people here prefer Nintendo games, but I know we have a few people out there who enjoy Xbox Live and shooter games.

If you're getting it, or planning to get it, post your gamertag here, and maybe we'll equip our helmets, load up on game fuel and go for a few rounds of 4 player co-op next week.

I plan on getting it, however I won't be getting a 360 untill October. If you want to go ahead and add my gamertag it's Geeky Dragon.

I've got it pre-ordered at Best Buy and plan on getting it next Tuesday... ish...
I'm especially looking forward to being able to record matches & play'em back. Very uber-nifty if it works the way I think it will.

TONIGHT WE DINE IN EARTH!

Yeah, I'm getting it.  Still haven't tried multiplayer with this connection but I hope it'll work.  But we'll have to have epic four player co-op.  My boss wants to go through it with me, but I'd rather play co-op than alone.

Multiplayer is very cool... also, I think the campaign is better than Halo 2's campaign.  Definitely a fun game!

Well, I've only had the chance to play one round of multiplayer with 2 people, but I do have some general impressions.

First off, it's Halo. I'm not into FPS games at all and I really don't see what makes Halo any better than the others. It's fun to play, but it's no more fun than playing Goldeneye or Perfect Dark or Unreal Tournament or any of the other countless games.

The round I played was fun, and I'm sure I'll be playing it plenty more. However, I didn't really notice much difference between it and Halo 2. The graphics are a bit shinier and I'm sure there are a few new guns. However, I never knew what all the guns in Halo 2 were so it really means nothing to me.

I only have one minor complaint, and that is the controls. It just doesn't seem very consistant. The controls on the ground are RT to shoot and LT for grenade. That works great, just like it should be. However, then you get into a Banshee and RT is one weapon, LT is your boost, and then they randomly decided that the secondary weapon should go on the A button. I didn't even realize the Banshee had a second weapon b/c I assumed LT would be it.

It's a minor complaint, but I do think they should have put a little more thought into their control scheme. Seriously, when I think of trigger buttons, I think of shooting things. Instead, it's boost.

Yeah, that's one thing I've always wished they put in the series. Fully remapable buttons. I mean, practically every FPS on consoles let you do that.

I'd love to play, but I really can't afford a 360 at the moment.  Plus the sheer cult phenomenon bugs me.  I guess I could just look past the fans and media coverage to see the game itself .  .  . Might have to wait a bit for it to die down.  I don't know, somehow when something is popular it's just less interesting to me.  Maybe it's because many fans lose sight of what the game actually is and just generically praise it.  Like Ocarina of Time.  I have specific memories and reasons for loving it.  It's shallow to just hear things like, "It's awesome, best zelda ever!"

Maybe I can find someone on my floor who has it and play sometime.  Dom was playing it over at his building earlier ...

Except for the warthogs .. they tumble way to much, but over all much better than halo 2 by far.

I just heard that my friend beat it in 8 hours. He didn't even tell me, I heard it from one of his friends. (We haven't had much opportunity to hang out lately anyway, we've both been so busy.)

I've NEVER played Halo at all, though if it's anything like Timesplitters I guess I'd be semi-decent.

My brother and I purchased a 360 last weekend, and our first game is Halo 3. I couldn't be happier with it. The Campaign is awesome and I'm having a great time with my friends (and various strangers) on multiplayer. The headset is a great addition to console gaming, and if people really want to be connected (coughWiiPhilsophycough), they should try out XBox Live.
